Goran Pandev, an international for North Macedonia, has declared his retirement after playing for clubs like Inter, Lazio, Napoli, Genoa, and Parma for the majority of his career in Italy.

The 39-year-old, who is presently competing for Parma in Serie B, has made the decision to hang up his boots.

“When I reflect, it doesn’t seem real… It’s been an amazing experience,” Pandev commented on Instagram.

“I carry all of my feelings with me and am aware that everyone who has traveled with me shares them.

“I thank my family for being my support, especially my wife Nadica and my children Filipo, Ana, and Sofia. I am grateful to my parents for letting me pursue this goal. I appreciate the people’s enthusiasm.

I am grateful to the Branchini family; without you, I could not have accomplished what I have. I appreciate the trust that my coaches and directors have placed in me. I wish I could hug each of you.

“A fantastic chapter closes… I’m carrying a huge bag packed with feelings. I’m glad I got to talk about them with you. Goran, with all my heart.

Pandev arrived in Italy for the first time in 2001 to participate in the Inter youth system. He later played for Spezia, Ancona, Lazio, Napoli, Galatasaray, Genoa, and starting in January 2022, Parma.

His career comes to a close with 101 goals in 493 Serie A games, as well as 11 Serie B games and 22 Serie C games.
